The McClellanville Community Foundation’s Board of Directors share the vision and values of our community. 

Thomas W. Johnston

Thomas W. Johnston

TJ is a resident of McClellanville and has spent a significant portion of his professional life in the Lowcountry as a lawyer, a Bishop in the Anglican Church, and currently the Chief Operating Officer of the Global Water Center.  He has initiated and served on the Board of several community-oriented non-profits.  He is a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals for the Town of McClellanville.

Carrie Sphar

Caroline M. Sphar

Carrie Spahr is a McClellanville resident with a background in real estate, marketing, business management, as well as working with non-profits and the Arts. She and her husband own and operate the McClellanville-based business Charleston Oyster Company,and hope to one day pass the business along to their two sons.

Kim Racine

Kim Racine

Kim Racine grew up on the coast of South Carolina then moved to McClellanville in 1996 when she married her husband Chip Racine, a local Commercial Fisherman. She has been in the banking industry for over twenty years and currently works for Pinnacle Financial Partners located in Mount Pleasant. She is a SVP, Financial Advisor, and her role is a Commercial Lender. Kim became involved in the McClellanville Community Foundation in 2022, and currently serves as its Treasurer. 

Inda E. Humes

Inda is a resident of McClellanville and has family roots in the area. She received a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of South Carolina, a Master’s degree in Education-Instructional Technology from American Intercontinental University and is currently the Director of Educational Technology and Curriculum Management at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine. Inda and her husband have five children that are involved in the Wando marching band and competitive soccer.

Margaret Crouch

Margaret S. Crouch

Margaret is a lifelong resident of McClellanville, SC. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Sociology from the College of Charleston and M.Ed. from Lesley University. She has spent her professional career as an educator and currently serves as the principal of Cape Romain Environmental Education Charter School. She is committed to teaching young people about the importance of environmental stewardship and instilling a love of place in her students.

Michelle McClellanville

Michelle A. McClellan

Michelle McClellan has served as Town Administrator for the Town of McClellanville for the past seven years. She received a bachelor’s degree in Business from Charleston Southern University and is a founding member of the McClellanville Community Foundation. Michelle has been involved in the Town’s efforts to secure the future of the working waterfront and the cultural heritage of the Village. McClellanville is a unique place, and she hopes to help preserve it for future generations.

Bennie Marshall

Bennie Marshall

Born in Boykin, South Carolina, Bennie Marshall has been a member of the McClellanville community for many years. He started a family run business headquartered in Awendaw. Bennie and his wife Elizabeth live in McClellanville’s historic district and enjoy all it has to offer. An avid boater and lover of the water and its wildlife, Bennie enjoys spending much of his free time on the boat. Their children and grandchildren enjoy visiting McClellanville and love exploring the creeks and beaches as a family.

Leondra Stoney

Leondra Stoney

“I did not come to be served, but to serve.” Leondra Stoney is humbled to serve the congregation of Bethel AME Church in McClellanville, SC. Leondra developed strong ties to the McClellanville community during her tenure at Lincoln Middle-High School. With over 12 years of pastoral experience, Leondra is committed to spreading the love of God and strengthening communities through outreach ministry.  

Leondra holds a Bachelor of Sociology Degree from the College of Charleston, a Master of Divinity Degree from Erskine Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry degree at Emory University. Leondra fulfills her passion to empower youth as a Program Director with Communities In Schools of South Carolina.    

Nealie Floyd

Nealie Floyd

Nealie Floyd is a resident of Spartanburg, South Carolina. She received a bachelor’s degree in Business from Converse College and later received a bachelor of science in Nursing from The University of South Carolina Upstate. Nealie is currently on sabbatical from working as a registered nurse to raise her three young children. Nealie, her husband, and children spend a notable amount of time in McClellanville and consider it their home away from home.

He has initiated and served on the Board of several community-oriented non-profits.

Michelle A. McClellan

Michelle A. McClellan is the Town Administrator for the Town of McClellanville. She received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Charleston Southern University and has been a full-time resident of the Town of McClellanville for the past 35 years. Michelle also currently serves on Charleston County’s Community Development Advisory Board and has been involved in efforts to secure the future of the Town’s working waterfront through a joint partnership with the Town of McClellanville, SC Sea Grant Consortium, East Cooper Land Trust, and Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments.
