The McClellanville Community Foundation’s Board of Directors share the vision and values of our community.
Caroline M. Sphar
Chair
Carrie Spahr is a McClellanville resident with a background in real estate, marketing, business management, as well as working with non-profits and the Arts. She and her husband own and operate the McClellanville-based business Charleston Oyster Company,and hope to one day pass the business along to their two sons.
Michelle A. McClellan
Vice Chair
Michelle McClellan has served as Town Administrator for the Town of McClellanville for the past seven years. She received a bachelor’s degree in Business from Charleston Southern University and is a founding member of the McClellanville Community Foundation. Michelle has been involved in the Town’s efforts to secure the future of the working waterfront and the cultural heritage of the Village. McClellanville is a unique place, and she hopes to help preserve it for future generations.
Kim Racine
Treasurer
Kim Racine grew up on the coast of South Carolina then moved to McClellanville in 1996 when she married her husband Chip Racine, a local Commercial Fisherman. She has been in the banking industry for over twenty years and currently works for Pinnacle Financial Partners located in Mount Pleasant. She is a SVP, Financial Advisor, and her role is a Commercial Lender. Kim became involved in the McClellanville Community Foundation in 2022, and currently serves as its Treasurer.
Thomas W. Johnston
Secretary
TJ is a resident of McClellanville and has spent a significant portion of his professional life in the Lowcountry as a lawyer, a Bishop in the Anglican Church, and currently the Chief Operating Officer of the Global Water Center. He has initiated and served on the Board of several community-oriented non-profits. He is a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals for the Town of McClellanville.
Aaron Baldwin
Aaron is a lifelong resident of McClellanville, where he lives today with his wife, Terri. He has worked in commercial fishing, construction, and historic restoration, but for most of his life has been a visual artist and teacher. Currently, he is the program coordinator for studio art at Charleston Southern University. Aaron earned a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Communications and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Clemson University. He is a member of the McClellanville Town Council and has served on numerous committees and boards in and around McClellanville, including the steering committee for the Cape Romain Environmental Charter School.
Inda E. Humes
Inda is a resident of McClellanville and has family roots in the area. She received a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of South Carolina, a Master’s degree in Education-Instructional Technology from American Intercontinental University and is currently the Director of Educational Technology and Curriculum Management at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine. Inda and her husband have five children that are involved in the Wando marching band and competitive soccer.
Cynthia Diane Geathers
Cynthia is a proud resident of McClellanville, South Carolina, where she lives with her husband Augustine Geathers, Jr. With deep family roots in the area, Cynthia has always had a heart for helping others and making a difference close to home. She holds an Associates Degree in Business from Horry-Georgetown Technical College and brings a wealth of experience from her years in customer service, where she learned the true value of working with people, solving problems, and building strong relationships. Now retired, Cynthia is using her time to give back even more to the community she loves. She describes herself, in her own words, as “just an ordinary person trying to make a difference. Let’s work together!”

Margaret S. Crouch
Margaret is a lifelong resident of McClellanville, SC. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Sociology from the College of Charleston and M.Ed. from Lesley University. She has spent her professional career as an educator and currently serves as the principal of Cape Romain Environmental Education Charter School. She is committed to teaching young people about the importance of environmental stewardship and instilling a love of place in her students.
Inda E. Humes
Inda is a resident of McClellanville and has family roots in the area. She received a bachelor’s degree in History from the University of South Carolina, a Master’s degree in Education-Instructional Technology from American Intercontinental University and is currently the Director of Educational Technology and Curriculum Management at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine. Michelle A. McClellan
Michelle A. McClellan is the Town Administrator for the Town of McClellanville. She received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Charleston Southern University and has been a full-time resident of the Town of McClellanville for the past 35 years. Michelle also currently serves on Charleston County’s Community Development Advisory Board and has been involved in efforts to secure the future of the Town’s working waterfront through a joint partnership with the Town of McClellanville, SC Sea Grant Consortium, East Cooper Land Trust, and Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments.
